Travelling to Płock

The standard route to Płock from abroad is via plane to the Chopin Airport Warsaw. However, Taylor Swift is coming with her tour to Warsaw on the weekend of our wedding (we are still waiting to hear whether she accepts to sing at our wedding). Therefore, some flights, such as flights from England to Warsaw, are unfortunately more expensive than usual. It is also for this reason that we recommend booking early. Below we also provide some alternatives to the Warsaw airports:

Airports

• Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW)
• This is the main airport in Warsaw. From here, one can travel to Płock by (in order of decreasing cost):
  • rental car (1 h 45 min)
  • Flixbus (usually around 2 h 30 min). Please check Bus travel through Europe | FlixBus to book.
  • Train: Chopin Airport (Lotnisko Chopina) -> Warsaw West station (Warszawa Zachodnia) (15 min). Then, Warsaw West station (Warszawa Zachodnia) -> Płock (2 h). Only a few trains per day. For booking: Masovian Railways | Koleje Mazowieckie (once the schedule for August has been announced).
• Warsaw Modlin Airport (WMI)
  • This is the “cheaper” airport in Warsaw. From here, one can travel to Płock by (in order of decreasing cost):
    • rental car (1 h 10 min)
    • Flixbus (1 h 10 min). Please check Bus travel through Europe | FlixBus to book.
• Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport (GDN)
  • There is a direct train (~5 h) to Płock from Gdynia Main Train Station (20 min from the airport by train).
• Berlin Airport (BER)
  • Berlin is further away but there exists a relatively good train connection to Płock with 2 changes in Berlin Central Station and Kutno (7 h)
• Bydgoszcz Airport (BZG)
  • Direct flights from London on August 1- August 5, then train/Flixbus (~3 h 30 min)

From the train/bus station in Płock it is possible to get to the Płock Cathedral / Hotel Tumski by taxi (25 PLN~6 EUR~5 GBP) in less than 10 min or by public transport in less than 20 min.

Staying in Płock

The Płock Cathedral (wedding ceremony) and Hotel Tumski (wedding reception) are within walking distance (5 min).

• Hotel Tumski
  • This is where the wedding celebration takes place.. A special discount is available if the booking is made via email to recepcja@hoteltumski.pl mentioning that you are guests on the wedding. Pets are not allowed.
• Hotel Starzyński
  • Just next to Hotel Tumski. Pets are allowed.
